Disobedience Press is a small press that publishes books on the topic of disobedience, resistance, and the capacity to say “no” to power. In the words of historian Natalie Zemon Davis, we provide “ample space for coping strategies and creative improvisation.” Expressions of dissent are at the heart of constructive social transformation and democracy. Disobedience Press amplifies the voices of those who have experienced or witnessed censorship, intimidation, threats to intellectual freedom, or institutional betrayal, and who can serve as a guide and model for galvanizing action towards an engaged citizenry.
